Happy birthday bro

My awesome big brother Brett turned 22 on Monday.
He had work and I had midterms to study for, so we celebrated on Tuesday. We had a sibling birthday dinner for him. Janet and I were  s t a r v i n g .  Hence we had to occupy ourselves with pictures.

My siblings are seriously the bomb. I love hanging out with them.
...and if you ever go to JCW's make sure to get a bacon cheeseburger and an ice cream cone for $1, so good!

Dollar movies and dates

Lately I've gone on a few dates ...that I asked guys to go on with me. Not like serious "i like you" kinda dates, just fun chill friend dates (example here). A few weeks ago my roommates and I decided to go on a group date. Jamie asked her fiance (surprise!), Makenzie asked a guy in our ward, and I asked a great friend of mine. And seriously...It was so much fun.

We planned to make pizookies and finger paint.
But our plans changed. We were talking for a while then decided we should probably make the cookies now. We just had so much fun talking and hanging out and messing around, and eating loads of sugar that we didn't even want to finger paint anymore. So we just talked and junk. Then my date's roommates were going to the dollar theater so some of us joined them and saw Wreck it Ralph. Which I hadn't seen before and LOVED! It ended up being a great date. It didn't go as planned, but seriously fun. (and then I found $5)

Moral of the story. Make pizookies on a date. It leads to loads of fun, well if you have a good date that is :)
Oh and if you need another date idea, finger paint! I've done it before and it was awesome too.

Ps.. have you ever heard the phrase "and then I found $5/20/100"? I hadn't but, Kenz uses it all the time. It automatically livens up a story and it's a way to see if you're friend is paying attention to your otherwise boring story. So sadly no, I did not actually find $5, but I did have a great night.

Four exciting things

So in increasing order of excitedness (yes excitedness), here are the four big-crazy-exciting things:

4.  For my New Testament class we write these little journal entries and share them with people and such. Well, one of my entries was chosen to be shared on an LDS website. Check it out here! It's about the apostle Paul and forgiveness. :) Please really do, it's super short!

3.  Last weekend was a long weekend. Thank you Presidents Day! I went up to my cousin's cabin with them and my brother just outside of Park City. It was gorgeous. We went snowmobiling (my first time and let me tell ya, I'm a huge fan!), played games, relaxed, and watched movies. It was awesome. I got to read...for fun! No textbooks, just straight up reading for funsies. But the most exciting part was...I didn't do a single thing of homework while we were gone! I did most before I left and a little after so that I wouldn't have to bring it with me. So dang nice.

2.  I got a new job!! I'm SO sad to be leaving Cougar Creations. Seriously, I had some great times there (exhibit a and b), and I'm going to miss it so much! But I'm pretty excited about my new job. I'm now working for BYU Conference's and Workshops, so I get to help with Women's Conference (which is amazing, seriously!) and some youth and adult summer camps for fine arts. Seriously exciting.

1.  I am officially a Special Education major, emphasizing in Mild/Moderate Disabilities! I've been accepted into the program, starting this fall. No more of that "pre-special ed" major stuff for me...so exciting! And I'll be graduating in two years, so four years from start to finish for this girl (surprisingly not as common as you would think).

These are my happy-uncontrollable-crazy faces.
What are you happy about right now? I'm a firm believer in the fact that there is always something to be happy about!! (Any Pollyanna fans out there? The glad game? Anyone?)

Valentine's day and what-not

My job is the best, second edition.
I don't know if I've said this before, but I work at a copy center on campus here at BYU and it's the bomb. Here's why I'm loving it right now: we get to decorate for any and every holiday/season. We get to make birthday posters for our coworkers. We just get to do some awesome stuff.

So naturally we haaaad to decorate for Valentine's day. My boss, Fred, (he's the bomb, remember?) had the great idea that we make a fake-we-don't-actually-like Valentine's day wall. So we did. Full of meme's and what-not. And man, it's hilarious. If you can't read the top it says: happy valentine's day??

Then, the night crew made this oh so cute, lovey-dovey wall saying "love is in the air at cougar creations!" with pictures of all the engaged/married couples. Cute!

Then, the morning crew made a single wall. :) Naturally we had to find the most awkward, unattractive pictures of us. So highlight what people were missing out on.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY Y'ALL!

Cooking blindfolded

Introducing Nate and Eric.
(Okay they've actually been on here before, back when I didn't know them very well!)

They're some of by best friends! Tonight we all went on a date with my cousins, where we made cookies. But the trick is...one of you is blind folded and the other has to give them directions (verbal only, no touching!) on where the ingredients and measuring cups and everything else are. So we scattered the ingredients around the room/counters and started talking, seriously so much fun. One of the funnest dates I've been on.

And I must say, they were some of the BEST peanut butter chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. So dang good. Plus we made them into homemade ice cream sandwiches, which is always a great thing to do. So grab some blindfolds, food and friends and get cooking!

Flannel Friday

You know it's going to be a good GREAT day when your boss buys you chocolate milk simply because you wore a flannel shirt for flannel Friday! Sadly I didn't have time to get a picture of all of us in our flannel shirts... :( too busy.

Seriously. Four things to know in life:
Chocolate milk is yummy.
Flannel Friday is awesome.
Work is wonderful.
And my boss is the best.

HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY Y'ALL!

And enjoy this fabulous peptalk.
