3 Ingredient Pumpkin Cookies

It has been a while since I last posted a recipe, so here is today's Sunday Treat! Some awesome guys in my ward made these cookies with/for me. And seriously, they're so good (and easy to make!!!). I'm such a sucker for pumpkin! And cake mix cookies, need I say more?? Sooo....if you have these three things and about 30 minutes, you can have some great cookies! Here ya go:

1 box of Spice Cake Mix
1 can of Pumpkin
1 bag of Chocolate Chips

1. Mix all three ingredients together.
2. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
3. Enjoy cookies with friends and family!

You can also frost them with cream cheese frosting, but I preferred them without frosting! So there ya go. Now make some hot apple cider and cookies and have a movie party. It made such a fun Saturday night with friends!

Guys, I have a problem..

I'm obsessed with Texas.

My mom and I were talking the other day and I was telling her that I just love Texas so much and that I want to live there someday. Not saying I won't live anywhere else, I'm willing to go where I need to and I'm sure I will love it, but I definitely want to go home eventually... :) I just loved growing up there so dang much. So anyways, back to a few highlights of my obsession...

ONE: I find Texan bloggers and just love them. My most recent find, Greetings from Texas. (My favorite post of her's...Texas Swag, which is part of the inspiration for this post)

TWO: I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to Texas, and yes it has quite a few pins on it... (Check it out if you want proof)

THREE: I just want cute Texas jewelry and clothes and decorations and everything.... Seriously, it is a problem.

So if for some reason you ever need to buy me a are a few ideas :)

1. James Avery Texas Ring 2. Born & Raised Texas T-Shirt 3. Custom State Pillow 4. Texas Book Print 5. Texas Cutting Board 6. Texas Running Shorts

So now y'all all know the way to my heart..... I have problems, and I know it :)

Throwback Thursday: ARTHUR!

Last night Makenzie, our friend Garrett and I had an Arthur party. Yes, Arthur, the lovable aardvark from that PBS kids show. We seriously love Arthur, and don't deny it, you do to!! It's on Netflix and Youtube, so naturally we needed to watch it. College is the best.

Also, you know it's a great show when you're in college and watching a little kid show, and people walk into your apartment and instead of making fun of you they say "Oh my gosh! Is that [insert show name here]?! I LOVE [said show]!"Therefore Arthur is a great show because that my friends is exactly what happened. :)

In case you were wondering if the Backstreet Boys guest starred on an episode, they did. It's an hour long special...yeah, we watched it.

So that's one of my favorite shows from when I was a kid, what are some of yours?

As you may have noticed, I got a new blog name! And I redesigned it, all by myself too. Pretty exciting. It is really fun figuring out how to redesign it and it working. Quite rewarding, but maybe I'm just a nerdy-wanna-be-graphic-designer.

My blog name came from Elder Carl B. Cook's talk from the October 2011 General Conference, entitled It Is Better to Look Up. That is seriously one of my favorite talks.

I think it is important to look up in life because trials and hard times will inevitably come our way, but there is always something good to be found in each and everyday.

Enjoy my new design and name and everything. You can check out my new About Me page! And now I have links to my instagram, facebook, pinterest, and my profile. Cool, huh?! All done by ME. Wooot woooooot!!

PS. Quote print found here. They have it in several colors too!

Dance the night away

We went country dancing a few weeks ago. And it was so much fun! (Just like you said it would be Janet!!) Here's our attempt at country style..

1. Jamie, Sophia, Me and Makenzie
2. Makenzie, Me, Colby, Jamie and Sophia

Last year we went Latin dancing, and tried to dress sassy....It just looked like we were going to church. Hahaha take a look..

Can you say floral print??

Anyways, they are both so much fun. COUNTRY DANCING? Complete! I highly recommend going. We didn't know what we were doing at all, but it was still a blast! They taught some steps at the beginning and then we just messed around and tried to learn the rest. So go get some guys and girls and gooooo!

International Eat an Apple Day!

It's happening. Check it out for yourself.

At work from time to time we randomly will google what the day's holidays are. Today is eat an apple day, which we found out...while I was eating an apple! Naturally it needed to be documented. Sooo...

I celebrated today by eating a Honeycrisp apple. My personal favorite. What's your favorite?

"She's in the double digits now!"

Okay, so actually Kenz is now 20! No longer a teenager..practically an old woman!

If you feel like you're missing something, Makenzie's birthday was last friday! So naturally we had to party-hardy.

We went to dinner [Zupas!] and to get drinks [Spark!], because we're sophisticated college girls and not just immature silly girls. Then to a dance party. So much fun!

You're an awesome roommate. I love you. I miss you. I love you. I miss you....
In case you didn't catch that reference, go watch this video. Now. Its hilarious. We're obsessed.. :)

Wedding Time!

Y'all might of heard, but my brother Cameron got married this summer! And I'm finally posting some pictures. So just pretend I posted this like a month ago and we're good to go!

Cameron and Janet got married on July 28 in the Draper Utah Temple.

It was so gorgeous. Janet is so gorgeous. I love having her as part of the family. She's pretty dang awesome. :) Congrats again y'all. Love you two!!

Plus, weddings are awesome because the entire family gets together, which doesn't get to happen to often. So we had to document.

1. All of the Thorpe's, and then some!
2. Aubrey (sister), me, and Lainie (sis-in-law)
3. Me, Momma, and Aubrey
4. Again.. we have fun together.
5. Me and my bud Braxton! My nephew is so cute. And getting soooo big.
6. Finally, me and the lovely bride. Janet, you're awesome! I love you sis!! :)

So, school has started. Yay college. Sophomore year is going pretty good so far. But for the real reason I'm posting..

I'm in this art class. And it's amazing. Seriously, one of my favorite classes I'm taking/have taken! It's called Art for Elementary Teachers, and I'm not even an Elementary Education major, it just counts for my arts requirement. Essentially, we do arts and crafts everyday and talk about how to apply it to teaching kids the skills and concepts of art. Pretty dang awesome in my opinion.

So here are the things we've done the last few weeks in class:
We used cookies and dyed frosting different colors to make a color wheels.
Make collages of snakes using construction paper.
Made "goggles of enhanced perception" using found objects...

What do you think of my one-of-a-kind and oh-so-classy star goggles?

PS--Just in case you were wondering, I'm getting the best education! Arts and crafts for life. Can't every class be like this?
