The people around me

Seriously. I'm sooo thankful for everyone in my life.

This is what I got to wake up to cute cute cute nephew! I'm going to miss him sooo much when I go back to school. I have loved getting to see him grow up this summer. He wasn't even walking when I first got home and now he's strutting his stuff all around town.

So many people made my day today! It was a busy day, but a good day nonetheless. So here are a few of them...

1. Braxton, Ryan, and Lainie
My dear nephew, and his parents (my brother & sis-in-law) too of course! We all had a sleepover last night and hung out this morning..just playing around and watching good movies. Can I say Angels in the Outfield?? Seriously. It's a classic.

2. Dad
My dad spent hours today checking my car and then teaching me all the things I need to know to keep up with the maintenance on it and such. I'm responsible, sometimes. Like I'm now an official car owner! Woot woot...pretty exciting. Pretty scary too though... :/

3. Momma & Papa Pepper
They came to dinner with my parents and I...and they all let me choose where to go! I wanted some good food that they don't have in Utah before I leave, so we went to Chicken Express. Seriously. So. Good. Can I say white cream gravy? Hahah if you don't know what I'm talking about you're seriously missing out on some gooooood fooooood.

Currently, I'm pretty busy. I'm moving in just a few short days, leaving home (once again) and it's hectic.

At the moment my room is a complete mess and will be until I move. Yay, NOT. Packing is no bueno. Clothes are all over the place and my bed isn't made. I'm trying to figure out what clothes I'll need within the next few weeks and what clothes I can just pack up to reunite with once I move into my new apartment (which I'm not doing for 3+ weeks). Living out of a suitcase for several weeks isn't that fun, but I'll deal. It's totally worth it to be back in Provo (have I mentioned that I can't wait!?)

The reason I'm going back to school sooo very soon is because...
My brother Cameron is getting married in 9 days. Holy cow!! I'm soo excited for them. Janet, my future sister-in-law, is seriously so cool. This last year we got to hang out a ton up at school and Janet and I were so tight! I cannot wait to have her as part of my family!
1. The first picture the three of us took! This was the very first time I had met Janet, needless to say I loved her from the beginning!
2. Just playing some games at Janet's parent's house. We were number one and beat everyone else!
3. Cam & Janet, such a cute couple.

So, after their lovely wedding I'm just going to stay up there and work at Cougar Creations!! I love my job. Seriously, it's the best.

Speaking of jobs...
Tomorrow is my last day of work at Powr-Flite, another one of my amazing jobs. It's totally a bittersweet moment for me. It was my very first job, right after I turned sixteen and I worked there all throughout high school (during the summers and school years) and they let me come back from college to work one more year. I'm definitely going to miss the people I've met there. It's been a great place for me to work and I've learned so much from my Powr-Flite family! Love y'all to death. Seriously.

I've been so lucky to have such great jobs and work with some down right amazing people. I'm sooo grateful for the different opportunities I've had! They have been exactly what I've needed, teaching me so many skills and just life lessons that I'll be able to use for the rest of my life.

Oh goodness, I should be packing right now, but instead I'm going to go watch some Netflix. :) I deserve a break. And a cookie too!

Happy Things

Hey y'all. This last weekend was pretty busy! I went down and visited my sister and her husband in Austin, Texas. Which was soooo much fun.

And this is my last full week in Texas!

Right now I'm super happy about some random things. And sooo extremely grateful for them too.

One being my new glasses! Such a random thing to be so excited for but oh man! I love them. Check them out for yourself. If you like them, I agree! If you don't, then just smile and keep your mouth shut. Hahaha just kidding, I won't be offended.

Another thing I'm super happy about is my journal. It was just a cheap pack of three little notebooks from Target that I just love. I love filling journals up with my thoughts, ramblings, random quotes I find, and memories. So fun to look back on. I'm sure my posterity will think I'm crazy in a good or bad way when they look back at these ha!

My laptop case is pretty much the coolest thing eva! My momma made it for me while I was down in Austin. It's a Texas flag, but made with cuuuute blue&purple and red&pink fabric instead of the classic red, white, and blue. I'm pretty much in love. Picture later, maybe. Hopefully :)

Reading is something else that has been making this summer the bomb dot com (as my dear roomie Jamie would say). I don't get to read enough during the school year, books of my choice that is.

And one more thing that has been making me happy friends and family! They are (Y'all are...) seriously the bomb. I love love love getting to spend time with y'all and talk to y'all and hang out. Family-I am going to miss you soo much when I go back up to Utah! Ry&Lain, I love it when y'all come over and Braxton of course too! Mom&Dad y'all are the best parents ever. Seriously. Y'all have taught me so much and I'm so grateful for y'all. Friends-Can't wait to be reunited with you soon!!! Talking on the phone, texting, and skyping have all been a blast this summer, but I cannot wait to hang out with y'all in person. On the real. Can't wait for more good times to come!

Ps...Did I say y'all enough? :) All my BYU (non-Texan) friends would make fun of how often I said y'all and sometimes even count them. So, anybody got a number?? :P

SInce I've been home...

...I have helped mom made little plaques for Young Women's.

...I have helped mom make a sample clipboard for YW's.

...I have worked all day, er'ry day.

...I have hung out with my family a ton!

...I went to the zoo with my cousin Melinda and her son Easton!

...I have eaten out a TON. No more.

...I have gone boating, yay!!

...I had to repair my computer..but the Apple store is sooo awesome and helpful so that was pretty easy actually!

...I have sewn two laptop cases (and I'm debating making one more!) (here)

...I have gone to two Rangers games, I love baseball.

...My brother got home :D

...I have baked a ton. and gathered a ton of new favorite recipes. Yay! (pumpkin muffins, snickerdoodles, pizookies)

...I dyed some jeans green! (here)

...I got to go to my friend's farewell! Spencer is such a great guy, he'll do amazing things in Berlin, Germany!

...and I'm leaving in two weeks!

Crazy how fast this summer has gone by... I think I've been rather productive and crafty! Which is exactly what I wanted this summer to be. This summer = SUCCESS.

I'm so stoked to go back to Provo, but I'm sad to leave Texas. It'll be okay, I'll take my Texas pride with me and be just fine.

An Outfit Post?

Happy Sunday Y'all!

I don't know about you, but man oh man do I love Sundays. Today my nephew [and his brother and sis-in-law] came over! Plus a few friends from church. It's always a blast to have people over for dinner.

Today was extra fun because of this fabulous new skirt I got. You know that whole "short in the front, long in the back skirt" trend? Well, I've been skeptical, but I have now jumped on the bandwagon! This one's pretty simple and not too extreme so I hoped I could pull it off!

And, I would say it was a success! I got several compliments [eeek!], and that always makes a girl feel good. One even from Katelyn (this super cute girl from church who rocks all sorts of styles, of who/whom I'm super jealous--fashion wise that is), which I slightly freaked out on the inside about.

So while today's outfit was a little outside my comfort zone, it turned out just splendid. It's all about the confidence, right?

Today I figured I'll share a little bit about me. Linking up to Rags to Stitches, here's to our little coffee date. If we were to have a coffee date, here's how it would go down...

First off...I would text you before hand and ask if we could go on not-actually-coffee coffee date. Maybe a Sonic happy hour, ice cream, or snow cone date! Because I loooove those things, they make people happy, and [in my own odd opinion, please don't judge me?] coffee smells disgusting. Plus it's summer. Need I say more?

...In the case that we end up at Sonic I would insist that you try my classic cherry limeade with vanilla easy ice. Seriously the best drink ever. I have never met anyone who doesn't like it. Go to Sonic and try it. Now. On the real though, you won't be disappointed, unless for some abnormal reason you don't like cherry or limeades. In that case, I won't be offended.

...I would tell you all about my summer. Which hasn't been terribly eventful, except for the fact that my brother Brett got home from his mission! Besides that I would tell you about my job. And squeal in excitement over going back to Utah here in....2 weeks!

...I would ask you all about your interests and fill you in on some of my new favorites. Including baking! Yum. Ask you what your favorite dessert is. Maybe even swap a recipe or two.

...Then, as our time comes to an end, we would make plans to craft or maybe even try out thrifting together [because you know...I've never gone!] very soon!

So, if you're craving some ice cream, hit me up! I'm always up for a scoop.

A Saturday Sewing Adventure

Today was just SEW MUCH FUN. Mainly because my Mom is the bomb dot come.

Tonight is my good friend Katie's birthday party! Soo Mother and I were trying to decide what to give her. Naturally we decided to make her something!

A laptop case!!!

So we got to sewing and ta da! Here's what we came up with...

We've made a few other laptop cases throughout the years...One for my sister, her friend, me, and my mom. Here is my laptop case, on the left, and Katie's on the right! I love that my mom is so crafty so that we didn't have to buy one of the typical [and NOT cute] laptop cases, but make one special for me!

Whew, it's been a busy day. Now I gotta go get ready for her party :D

Happy birthday Katie dear...You rock!
